Originally from California, Dr. Cortez moved here to Las Vegas when she was eleven. Growing up with horses, cows, pigs, and chickens, Dr. Cortez began working with animals from a young age. Dr. Cortez went on to graduate from Colorado State with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After moving back home, she joined our professional team. 

Dr. Cortez is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. She offers veterinary acupuncture services, is also a certified Fear Free veterinarian. Her other interests in the field include pain relief and preventative medicine. 

In her spare time, Dr. Cortez enjoys quilting, camping, and spending time with her family. Dr. Cortez and her husband Ron have 2 children, Nitausha and Ronnie, and 5 grandsons. They share their home with dog, Bert, and 2 cats, Burrito and Daisy.
